Outpatient Therapy Services
The Health & Wellness Center at Hazleton is the only outpatient, hospital-based center in the area experienced to properly evaluate and treat patients who range in age from infancy through adulthood. The highly trained staff is with you each and every step of the way to ensure a healthy and timely recovery, one that will get patients back to their daily activities as soon as possible.
Our highly experienced physical therapists provide patients with individualized treatment to help restore physical strength, endurance and mobility. Patients will work one-on-one with the rehabilitation team to increase movement, improve range of motion and restore function. The Health & Wellness Center at Hazleton offers a variety of physical therapy services including an initial evaluation to develop a treatment plan, patient education, massage, joint mobilization skills, individualized exercises, physical therapy modalities such as ultrasound, and a variety of modern techniques to help patients achieve a better quality of life upon completion. Specialized physical therapy treatments such as aquatic therapy, osteoporosis therapy, and a balance program also are available to patients.
Sometimes we take the simplest tasks for granted. The highly experienced occupational therapists at the Health & Wellness Center at Hazleton help patients achieve their activities of daily living (ADLs) through individualized rehabilitation, so they can properly care for themselves and their homes. They help patients who suffer from a variety of conditions, including but not limited to those recovering from a stroke or brain injury, as well as patients who experienced an injury at home or work. The team utilizes modern day therapy techniques to help restore function; make adjustments to manage chronic, debilitating injuries or illnesses/diseases; and ensure patients can complete required tasks at home and work. Individualized plans are developed to address patient impairments, disabilities, hand therapy and handicaps in a variety of areas. The occupational therapy staff is excited to help you get back to independent living. Recently, the Health & Wellness Center at Hazleton launched a Low Vision Therapy Program. Patients require a physician referral before beginning occupational therapy.
Our certified speech pathologists diagnose and treat a variety of speech, voice and language disorders, including the inability to make speech sounds, stuttering, fluency and rhythm problems, inappropriate pitch, harsh voice, speech quality problems and much more. Speech pathologists work with the following patient diagnoses:
